Gentlewomen

For an editorial series for The Gentlewoman the aim was to team up with Qiu Yang to shape a set of abstract cosmetic closeups that push textures tones and small details so far that the surfaces turn almost sculptural, and the work focused on forming a calm yet intense mood in which gloss grain and color shift into strange plastic depths, letting simple product matter feel like fragments of a larger art piece, and the scenes were built as tight controlled fields where every beam of light slid across the textures with slow precision, creating a soft tension between beauty imagery and pure abstraction, and the process drew from pale hues sharp highlights and the mild pulse of diffused glow.
